On June 16, 2009, the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released a public advisory which recommended consumers to discontinue use of Zicam, a popular cold remedy sold over the counter. The affected Zicam products included Zicam Nasal Swabs and Zicam Nasal Gel, both of which were manufactured by Matrixx Initiatives Inc.
The FDA's public advisory followed over 100 reports that the use of Zicam Nasal Swab and Zicam Nasal Gel products had resulted in a loss of smell called anosmia. If you or a loved one have used Zicam and have experienced a loss of smell, you might be entitled to compensation. To learn about your rights, contact a Zicam lawyer now.
